Merge PDF files privately, in your browser
Combine several PDFs into one in your browser. Put them in order, remove any you don't need and download the result. Free, nothing uploaded.
Runs on your deviceRuns entirely in your browser: nothing you type or upload leaves your device.
How to use it
- Drop your PDF files, or click to choose them. You can add more at any time.
- Put them in order with the ↑ and ↓ buttons, and remove any you don't need with ✕.
- Click Merge and download to get one PDF with all the pages.
When they ask for everything "in a single PDF"
Job applications, supplier registrations, university admissions and many other procedures ask you to upload all your documents as one PDF: your CV, diplomas, reference letters, a copy of your ID, a bank certificate. Each one usually arrives as a separate file, from a different place.
Merging puts them together in the order the reviewer expects, without printing and scanning again. Since the files are read on your device, you can do it with documents you wouldn't want to hand to an unknown website.
Example: a job application in four pages
You drop cv.pdf (2 pages), diploma.pdf (1 page) and reference-letter.pdf (1 page). The list numbers them in the order you added them, and the summary reads 3 files · 4 pages. If the diploma should go first, move it up with ↑. Remove a wrong file with ✕.
Click Merge and download. You get cv-merged.pdf, named after the first file in the list, and the status line shows its size. Rename it to something the reviewer will recognise, like Perez-Pepito-documents.pdf, and open it once to check that every page is there and in order before you upload it.
What merging doesn't do
It doesn't make files smaller: the result weighs about the same as all the parts together. If a portal limits the upload to 2 MB and your scans are heavy, reduce them before you merge. It only takes PDFs; for photos of documents, turn them into a PDF first with JPG to PDF.
If one of the files carries a certificate-based digital signature, common in certificates issued online, that signature can no longer be verified in the merged copy, because the file is rebuilt. When the receiver needs to validate it, send that certificate as a separate file. The document properties of the originals, like title and author, aren't copied either.
FAQ
Can I merge only some pages of each PDF?
Not here: each file goes in whole. Take the pages you need first with Split PDF (Extract pages into one PDF), then merge those copies.
Is there a limit on files or size?
There is no fixed limit: your device's memory is. Dozens of normal PDFs are fine. Past 100 MB in total it can get slow, especially on a phone.
One PDF says it's password-protected. What can I do?
Open it with its password and save or print it as a new PDF without one. Then add that copy. Remove PDF password can also do it, using our server.
Is anything lost when merging?
The pages look exactly the same, and text stays selectable. The bookmarks panel isn't kept, and fillable form fields may stop being fillable.
Can I merge photos or Word documents?
Not directly: this tool only takes PDFs. Turn photos into a PDF with the JPG to PDF tool, and save Word or Excel files as PDF from the program itself (File, Save as, PDF). Then drop all the PDFs here.
