Sign a PDF with your handwritten signature
Draw your signature or upload a photo of it, place it on any page of a PDF and download the signed file. All in your browser, with no uploads.
Runs on your deviceRuns entirely in your browser: nothing you type or upload leaves your device.
How to use it
- Drop the PDF you need to sign.
- Draw your signature with your mouse or finger, or upload a photo of it and remove the background.
- Choose the page, click or tap where the signature goes, adjust its size and download the signed PDF.
A drawn signature, not a certificate
This tool puts a picture of your handwritten signature on a PDF page. It is the same as printing the document, signing it with a pen and scanning it, without the printer. That is enough for many everyday papers: a lease annex, a school permission slip, a quote you accept, an internal company form.
A certificate-based digital signature is something else. It is created with a certificate issued by a certification authority, it is stored inside the file, and if anyone changes the document afterwards, PDF readers show the signature as broken. This page doesn't create that kind of signature.
Example: signing the last page of a lease
Drop lease.pdf, 3 pages. Draw your signature in the box, or upload a photo of it and move Remove background until only the ink is left. Type 3 in Page, then click on the line where the tenant signs: a dashed box shows exactly where the signature will go. Use Size to make it fit the line.
Tick Add text below to write under the signature. It starts with today's date, like September 24, 2026, and you can replace it with your name and ID number. Click Sign and download: you get lease-signed.pdf. Open it and check the page before you send it.
Where an image signature falls short
In Colombia, Ley 527 de 1999 gives legal value to electronic documents and digital signatures, and Decreto 2364 de 2012 (now compiled in Decreto 1074 de 2015) regulates electronic signatures: methods such as codes, passwords or biometric data that identify a person, as long as they are reliable and appropriate for the purpose. The decree calls a signature reliable when the signing data belong only to the signer and any unauthorised change made after signing can be detected. On its own, a pasted image gives neither guarantee: anyone who has the file can copy it, and nothing shows if the text is changed later. Other countries have their own rules.
Whether an image signature is accepted depends on who receives it and what the parties agreed. Before you send, ask the entity what kind of signature it accepts. If the PDF already carries a digital signature, adding yours here breaks that signature's validation.
FAQ
Is this a digital signature?
No. It places an image of your handwritten signature on the page, like signing on paper and scanning it. A certificate-based digital signature proves who signed and that nothing changed afterwards. Some procedures with governments, banks or notaries require that kind, so check before you send.
Is my signature uploaded or saved?
No. The PDF and your signature stay on your device and are gone when you close the page. We never see them.
How do I use a photo of my signature?
Sign on a white sheet with a dark pen, take a well-lit photo and crop it close to the signature. Then move the slider until the paper disappears.
Can I sign several pages?
Each download adds one signature. To sign another page, drop the signed file you just downloaded and sign again.
Can someone copy my signature from the signed PDF?
Yes. The signature is an image inside the file, and anyone who has the PDF can extract it. Send signed documents only to the people who need them. Writing the date and purpose under the signature, with Add text below, makes it harder to reuse on another document.
